YOUTH AT THE CENTER
Youth Service America (YSA) and the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP), U.S. Department of Justice are offering $2,000 grants to help organizations that have had a successful youth engagement experience to replicate effective practices to organizations in a broader network or coalition without a youth strategy. Successful applicants will involve youth in addressing the world’s most pressing social issues, such as climate change, hunger, disease, nutrition, literacy, disaster relief, poverty, and more. MONTHLY "FUNDING TIPS" BY THE FINANCE PROJECT
The Finance Project is pleased to announce the next installment in a new series of monthly funding tips for youth programs. These tips cover different financing strategies to help programs finance and sustain their work.
GRANTS TO HELP UNDERSERVED YOUTH
The Association for Library Services to Children (ALSC) and Candlewick Press are partnering to offer a one-time grant of $5,000 to a library conducting exemplary outreach to underserved youth. An ALSC committee will select a winner, and may name up to three Honorable Mentions. Special population children may include youth with learning or physical differences, non-native English-speakers, those in a non-traditional school environment, those in non-traditional family settings, and those who need accommodation services to meet their needs. GRANTS FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD CARE AND EDUCATION
Rosie's For All Kids Foundation awards grants in major cities to expand services to children from low-income families. Projects include the expansion of a school building, the renovation of a newly purchased building, or the construction of a new building on a vacant site. Nonprofits are eligible, and applications for the grants - which range from $15,000 to $30,000 - are accepted on a rolling basis. For more information, visit www.forallkids.org.
GRANTS FOR EXPLORATION OF JAPANESE CULTURE
The Japan Foundation's Center for Global Partnership is offering grants to programs in Midwestern and Southern states to increase awareness and understanding of Japan. Grants of up to $5,000 are available. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis for projects conducted between now and December 31. For more information, visit the Center for Global Partnership.
GRANTS SUPPORTING YOUTH ENVIRONMENTAL ACTION
The Captain Planet Foundation is sponsoring grants for youth ages six to 10 for projects that promote the understanding of environmental issues and focus on hands-on involvement. GRANTS FOR YOUTH PROMOTING COLLABORATION
The Southern Poverty Law Center is sponsoring the Mix It Up Grants program, which provides $500 for youth-directed activist projects that identify, cross and challenge social boundaries in schools and communities. There is no application deadline. Click here to learn more.
GRANTS FOR EMPOWERING WOMEN AND GIRLS
Avon Products is sponsoring the Avon Hello Tomorrow Fund which provides grants to support individuals who are conducting projects to empower women and girls in three areas: business development, community service or awareness and outreach.
