Q. How can I help my child or others participating in ACE?
A. Parents help foster the relationship children have with school and with the community. Parents have a wealth of knowledge stemming from their family, work, and personal experiences. Whether it is mentoring a student, leading an activity, or speaking with other parents, you as a parent can offer real world experiences to teach students and their families new skills and a new outlook on life.
Q. As a parent, how can I benefit from participating in ACE?
A. ACE develops programs based on the needs of the school district and the community. Therefore, while academic learning and enriching activities are the foundation of ACE, the activities provided will vary among centers. Please contact your local ACE to learn more about what parental programs are available. Examples of activities offered include GED preparation, literacy skills, budget management, nutritional meal planning, parental skills, and ways to support your child’s education.
Q. How can my child benefit from participating in ACE?
A. Academic learning and enriched activities are the foundation of ACE. Your child will be able to explore new things in a structured and safe environment while enhancing academic and life skills. By participating in the various activities offered by ACE, students are more likely to:
· Improve attendance and increase homework quality
· Develop better social skills and learn to handle conflicts
· Build self-esteem and confidence in academic abilities
· Improve math, reading, science, and social studies skills
· Pass core subjects
· Complete high school
· Be prepared for college and the workforce
· Have higher aspirations for the future

A. Participating in ACE offers students the opportunity to learn more about the world around them and about themselves while in a safe and positive environment. Students are exposed to a variety of activities that:
